About Bluetooth Devices

The wireless technology standard that exchanges data over short distances with the help of short wavelength UHF radio waves present in ISM band from 2.4 to 2.485 GHz from mobile as well as fixed devices is known as Bluetooth. This device builds PAN (Personal Area Networks). Telecom vendor Ericsson invented this device in the year 1994, originally created for the purpose of wireless alternative to data cables of RS-232. Various devices can be connected overcoming different synchronization problems.

Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) manages the device. It has above 20,000 member companies in different sectors of computing, telecommunication, consumer electronics as well as networking. This device was standardized as IEEE 802.15.1. However, this standard is not available anymore. SIG checks specification development, manages the program of qualification, and completely protects all the trademarks. In order to market a particular device, it needs to pass the standards that are defined by SIG. Patent network is needed for technological implementation that is licensed specifically for qualifying the device.
