About XDSL Modems
DSL (digital subscriber line) modem is a device that is designed for the purpose of connecting a computer or even connecting router to a telephone line that enables digital subscriber line service for the Internet connection that is generally known as DSL broadband.
Technically, the term DSL modem is used to talk about the modem that connects to a single computer, with the help of a USB port installed in the PCI slot of computer. More common DSL router that combines with DSL modem function as well as a home router is a device that can be connected to a number of computers with the help of multiple Ethernet ports or internally built wireless access point. Also known as residential gateway, DSL router generally manages connection as well as sharing of DSL service in office or home network.
