Polaroid C3 - the chamber cube for outdoor activities

At the CES exhibition the Polaroid company (risen from ashes like Phoenix) presented the sports C3 chamber for shootings in adverse "field" conditions.

Outwardly is a small cube, the width of which each side is equal 35 mm. On one of sides there is the wide-angle lens, capable to capture an environment on 120 degrees, and the form factor perfectly is suitable for wide-angle shooting, like, for bicycle ride (besides, these photo cubes it is possible to put one on another … but what for?!).

In spite of the fact that the chamber as the device «for active sports shootings» is positioned, any fastenings on it is not found, and is not absolutely clear yet as it will be mounted on helmets, bicycles, wings of planes etc. (but representatives of Polaroid assure that there will be all necessary accessories and fastenings later).

The chamber is protected from moisture and can plunge into water, maintaining depth to two meters. Files are transferred not through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (as it would be possible to assume), and through the memory cards of micro-SD which are inserting into a special compartment, protected by a cover with a carving (it is easy to open a coin). Unclear, as far as this practical decision in this case, but looks not bad.

Polaroid C3 is while in a phase of the working prototype which is not so far from possibility of mass production.

On a top of the chamber there is a big button, having pressed on which you will begin record of video or will make a picture. Permission of a sensor of C3 makes 5 megapixels (video registers in a format 1 280 x 720 or 640 x 480). The expected price, according to representatives of Polaroid - 99 $.
